5 Cowboys from 2022 roster who still remain unsigned
By Jerry Trotta
The Dallas Cowboys have put together their best offseason in years.
They didn't quite upend their free agent philosophy like they did trading for proven veterans, but they did excellent to retain Donovan Wilson, Tony Pollard (via the franchise tag), Leighton Vander Esch and Johnathan Hankins, among others.
Most of the free agents the Cowboys elected not to bring back quickly found new homes on the open market. Connor McGovern (Bills), Dalton Schultz (Texans), Noah Brown (Texans) and Carlos Watkins (Cardinals) are the most notable losses who are continuing their careers elsewhere.
Conversely, some 2022 Cowboys are still waiting for a call to join a new team. The expectation is a few of them will sign somewhere. When that might happen is up for debate, however, given several teams just started voluntary OTAs.

5. T.Y. Hilton
It's no surprise Hilton is still braving the free agent waters. The veteran receiver hasn't committed to playing another season, though he hasn't retired yet, either. We'd venture to say he's taking a similar approach to last season when he waited for a team to come calling mid-season for his services.
Hilton was sneakily a huge pickup for the Cowboys. He quickly became Dak Prescott's go-to target on third down. Of his seven catches, five moved the chains, including a 52-yard prayer on 3rd and 30 to keep Dallas alive on Christmas Eve against the Eagles.
The Cowboys all but shut the door on re-signing Hilton, but any team would be wise to consider him as a mid-season depth signing. He mentored CeeDee Lamb upon touching down in Dallas, is a great personality to have in the locker room and is one of the most accomplished receivers available.
