4. Jake Ferguson catches another TD pass
Jake Ferguson has continued to make strides as a starting tight end in the NFL. The second-year player hasn’t turned into the safety valve Dalton Schultz was for Dak Prescott, but he’s still been effective.
Just this past week, he finished with 47 yards on four receptions. He even hauled in the first touchdown of the game for Dallas when he was able to grab the ball with his fingertips for an 18-yard score.
On the year, he has 237 yards and two touchdowns while catching 25 passes. Typically, you’d like to see a tight end averaging more than 10 yards per catch and Ferguson is just under that — but as stated earlier, he has been showing improvement. He’s also caught every target thrown his way (15 total) over the past four weeks.
Philly hasn’t been great on pass defense this season and struggled with tight ends throughout the he year. In Week 1, Hunter Henry had 56 yards and a touchdown. Then it was T.J. Hockenson in Week 2 as the Minnesota tight end has seven receptions for 66 yards and two touchdowns. This past week, Logan Thomas had six receptions and a touchdown.
That means there will be opportunities for Ferguson against this defense and this bold prediction is that he will take advantage of those and wind up with at least another touchdown.
