On Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys suffered a severe loss when Trevon Diggs went down with a knee injury in practice. It was feared he tore his ACL and an MRI proved this to be the case. He's taken to social media to show his appreciation to the fans for the well wishes but it's a tough pill to swallow for a cornerback who was playing out of his mind through the first two weeks.
Now with Diggs out, the rest of the team will be looking to secure a third win and will use him as motivation when they face the Arizona Cardinals.
Let's look ahead to that game with these five bold predictions for the Cowboys in Week 3.
5. Deuce Vaughn records first-career touchdown
Against the New York Giants, Deuce Vaughn wasn’t on the field very often until garbage time. He wound up with eight yards on six attempts, making his debut performance somewhat forgettable. In Week 2, he ended up with the same number of touches but was much more electric.
Vaughn had 16 yards on three rushes with a 13-yarder leading the way. He added 16 more on three receptions including an 11-yarder. On those two long plays, he showed off the speed, shiftiness, and decisiveness that made him a star for Kansas State.
Now heading into Week 3, Vaughn is showing more comfort in the offense and that should lead to more trust from Mike McCarthy. Throw in the fact that they’re playing the Arizona Cardinals — who are a mess right now — and Vaughn should be able to see the field even more, especially as garbage time hits.
This prediction is that he not only tops his total of 32 yards from scrimmage last week but also scores his first career NFL touchdown.
