4 X-factors that will be crucial in Cowboys' Week 1 clash vs NY Giants
3. Defensive front speed
The Giants have used a lot of draft capital to improve their offensive line in order to protect their now-franchise quarterback Daniel Jones. Unfortunately for them, they are going to be facing off against one of the fastest defensive fronts in the NFL.
Led by Micah Parsons, the speed of Dallas' defensive front should allow the group to exploit a suspect Giants OL.
Along with Parsons, the Cowboys have the ability to slide DeMarcus Lawrence inward and insert another one of their pass rushers on the outside in order to match Lawrence up against the slower guards -- alongside Osa Odighizuwa -- to push the pocket and force Jones out of his reads faster and hopefully force him into a mistake.
If there's one area that Jones could hurt the Cowboys, it's his mobility. They've had issues in the past against mobile quarterbacks (like Kyler Murray and Justin Fields). Having rushed for over 700 yards last year, Jones has that ability.
If the Cowboys' linebackers stay focused, Jones shouldn't be able to cause too much damag thanks to the front's ability to fly to the football.
