1. LA Chargers

Does anyone know what the Chargers are doing?

They decided to keep overpaid edge rushers Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa, and let receiver tandem Mike Williams (released) and Keenan Allen (traded) go. The expectation is Los Angeles will take a WR fifth overall, but their wideout room currently consists of 2023 first-round pick Quentin Johnston, who couldn't do anything right in year one, Josh Palmer, return specialist Derius Davis and old friend Simi Fehoko.

Maybe Jim Harbaugh is scheming something behind the scenes, but the Chargers as currently constituted are setting Justin Herbert up for failure. Gallup obviously wouldn't save the Bolts' receiver problem, but he and a No. 5 overall pick would be a nice start.

While Kellen Moore is no longer around, Los Angeles' wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal was in Dallas when the Cowboys drafted Gallup in 2018. The idea of catching spirals from a QB cyborg in Herbert will surely entice Gallup, but his connection with Lal could be the needle-mover that pushes him to join the Chargers.
