2. Michael Gallup, WR

I'm not sure how the Dallas Cowboys can justify keeping Michael Gallup on the roster any longer after this season. They simply made a mistake when they gave him a new contract instead of Amari Cooper, and it's time for them to wave the proverbial white flag.

Gallup was a tremendous player early on in his NFL career, but he has not proven to be any sort of consistent threat since his first three seasons, and surely Dallas has been able to see that. Gallup is currently slated to count nearly $14 million on Dallas's 2024 salary cap. He has a dead cap charge over $13 million, so he will need to be a post-June 1 release, which would save the Cowboys $9.5 million this coming year.

CeeDee Lamb is up for an extension. Tony Pollard is a free agent. The Cowboys are going to have to find a way to bring Tyron Smith back with the way he's been playing as of late. It's safe to say that Gallup's production hasn't made this a difficult decision for the Cowboys' front office.

With the Cowboys in desperate need of someone stepping up in a WR2 role, Gallup has caught just 28 passes this season, and only one touchdown. Most of his production has come in two games, a win against the Giants and a loss against the Cardinals.

The Cowboys can't justify keeping Gallup on the team any further beyond this season, certainly not absent a pay reduction.
