The Dallas Cowboys have had to make countless tough decisions over the years in terms of moving on from players.

Perhaps the most notable example was when they released DeMarcus Ware in 2014 even though it was obvious Ware still had plenty of gas left. With a salary cap hit of $16 million, Dallas hoped Ware would be open to taking a reduced salary. The team and player weren't on the same page and Ware got cut.

The Cowboys took a similar course of action with Ezekiel Elliott this offseason. That wasn't the only tough decision Jerry Jones and the rest of the front office made, however. Here are four players Dallas was right to move on from.

4. Noah Brown

Brown's development as a former seventh-round pick was a delight to watch unfold. Ultimately though, the Cowboys couldn't wait forever for Brown to announce himself as a three-down receiver. He didn't leave for a king's ransom, but Dallas clearly was content with letting Brown test the free agent waters.

The 27-year-old secured a one-year deal from the Texans. Fans are understandably happy for Brown given how important he was to the offense early last season while Michael Gallup worked his way back to the lineup and rookie third-round pick Jalen Tolbert was a healthy scratch.

While Brown made strides as a receiver in 2022 and contributed a lot to the running game as a blocker, he wasn't a must-keep by any stretch. He's a fine role player, but would have struggled for snaps behind CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks and a hopefully healthy Michael Gallup.

Not to mention, Jalen Tolbert is headed for a bigger role and Simi Fehoko could push for playing time with a strong training camp.
