Everyone loves a feel-good sports story and seeing a player bounce-back or " breakout" substantially is one of them. On a Dallas Cowboys team that already has their work cut out for them, a few players are itching for that breakout season.

Luckily, each of them have the skillset to do so. Whether an injury set them back the previous year, they experienced a lack of playing time or simply didn't produce enough, many Cowboys players have something to prove this season.

These players in question must make a statement that they can turn their careers around with a statement 2024 season. With that, lets' dive into a select group of Cowboys who can shine the brightest this season.

1. LB DeMarvion Overshown

The hopes were high for Overshown when he came out of Texas in 2023. The freakishly-athletic linebacker showed signs of stardom in training camp before a season ending injury struck during the preseason.

Now healthy and with a lot of support around him, Overshown has the tools to work well in a Mike Zimmer-defense. He is fierce chasing ball-carriers and is always in attackmode. His ability to also step back in coverage is what Zimmer will love. Versatility is needed in todays' NFL and not many linebackers can excel at both levels. Overshown makes it look easy.

Perhaps, the Cowboys were content passing on quality LB prospects early in the NFL Draft because they're confidence in what Overshown can bring to the team. He is now healthy and will be looking to prove himself, especially after a big injury.
