The Dallas Cowboys enter their Week 7 bye with a 4-2 record. Everything hasn’t been perfect for them in the early going. But if you asked any Cowboys fan before the season, going 4-2 before the bye would have been a success.

Playing the New York Giants, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, and Los Angeles Chargers in the first six weeks seemed like a tough slate to begin the year. A division opponent, a good Jets team, and games on the road against two high-powered offenses weren’t going to be easy.

Of course, Dallas wishes they were 6-0 or even 5-1. The Week 3 loss to the Arizona Cardinals definitely stings and so does the blowout defeat against the San Francisco 49ers. However, the 4-2 record at this point in the season isn’t necessarily bad for the Cowboys.

Through these first six weeks, we can see the direction the team is going and how players are being utilized on both sides of the ball. Now is also a good time to see if Cowboys fans were right or wrong so far about their offseason predictions.
