2. Cowboys are definitely drafting a quarterback

Might have to give Jerry Jones credit for this smokescreen.

During the Senior Bowl, Jones disclosed Dallas intentions to draft a quarterback. The owner even went as far as to say it's a mistake not to invest in a rookie QB every year or so. That got the people talking and mocking.

Between Purdue's Aidan O'Connell, who had a private workout with the Cowboys, Houston's Clayton Tune, TCU's Max Duggan, UCLA's Dorian Thompson-Robinson and BYU's Jaren Hall, there was no shortage of quarterback prospects linked to Dallas after Jones' comments.

ESPN's Todd Archer shared O'Connell was under consideration in round four before the Cowboys took San Jose State DL Viliami Fehoko. Perhaps there was some truth behind the quarterback rumblings, but Jones' quote suggested it was a lock that Dallas would come out of the draft with a new gunslinger.

Though they passed on O'Connel, Stanford's Tanner McKee, who went to the Eagles, Duggan, who went to the Chargers and undrafted QBs Malik Cunningham (Louisville) and Chase Brice (App State) were all there for the taking.
