3. Running back

After losing both Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott in consecutive offseasons, the Dallas Cowboys could be in line to add a couple of running backs in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Dallas's current depth chart at running back as we approach the draft:

  • Rico Dowdle
  • Deuce Vaughn
  • Malik Davis
  • Snoop Conner

It's clear that the Cowboys need to upgrade position, but the issue with this year's draft class is that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We might not see a running back taken until the middle or later portion of Day 2 with Florida State's Trey Benson largely considered to be the best back in the class.

But there are some intriguing players as you get into the later portion of Day 2 and Day 3, there are some really nice value prospects. Blake Corum, Jaylen Wright, Braelon Allen, and Jonathon Brooks could all be there when the Cowboys are on the clock in the third round, and then there are dual-threat backs like Bucky Irving, Ray Davis, and Isaac Guerendo who could still be sitting there in rounds four or five.

The Cowboys could restock the running back position in this year's draft and get great value in the process.
