Stud: KaVontae Turpin, Wide Receiver

The Cowboys offense was struggling mightily in the first half and needed a spark. Mike McCarthy decided one way to do this was to put KaVontae Turpin on the field.

Known for his return skills, Turpin is one of the fastest players in the NFL and Dallas has wanted to get him more involved this year. That happened in Week 1 when he ran for a touchdown against the Giants and entered this week with 66 yards on six rushing attempts and 25 yards on four receptions. To this point, those yards came on either runs or short passes.

This time, he was targeted downfield and it worked like a charm.

Facing a third-and-four, Dak Prescott dropped back at the 26-yard line and threw a rainbow pass that was slightly overthrown but still landed right in the hands of Turpin for a touchdown as he turned on the jets to catch up to the ball. It was his first career touchdown reception and helped the offense finally put points on the board.

As fate would have it, Turpin was injured on the play and that wound up being the last we saw of him on Sunday night. But he made quite the impression on that catch.

Hopefully he won't be out long because this offense can use more of the spark he provides.
