3 last-ditch Trevon Diggs replacements Cowboys can sign (including possible reunion)

The Cowboys could look to add a CB in light of Trevon Diggs' season-ending injury.

2. Bryce Callahan

The 5-foot-9 Callahan wouldn't be an outright Diggs replacement. He's more accustomed to the nickel, but the Cowboys plan to start DaRon Bland opposite Stephon Gilmore on the boundary with Jourdan Lewis stepping into the slot.

In 2022 with the LA Chargers, Callahan set a career-high with 47 tackles and three interceptions, to go with six passes defended. He stepped up in light of J.C. Jackson's injury-ravaged season alongside Asante Samuel Jr. and together they helped keep the Bolts' defense afloat.

Though solid in coverage, Callahan doesn't present much resistance against the run. He's not a seamless fit with Dan Quinn, who, just like any top-tier coordinator, wants his defensive backs to pack a punch.

Again, though, no "perfect fit" is available in the dog days of September.
