Much to the surprise of Dallas Cowboys fans, the team went made moves that still aligned with their ideals about cost vs production and made the roster better on both sides of the ball.

With OTAs officially underway, the coaching staff can be hands on with their players as they begin cultivating the roster. For as much work as the Cowboys' front office has done so far, though, they are still a pickup or two away from making this offseason a full-blown success.

Dallas has one main hole on the roster to fill along with depth issues at certain positions, but we know this team is always looking to build its roster. With teams around the league doing the same, there will most certainly be players that will be released over the next several weeks.

While more trades are in the realm of possibility, let's focus on some kickers who could get released in the coming weeks and step in and start for Dallas.

3. Nick Folk

Last season proved that the Cowboys aren't afraid to bring back a kicker that in the past hasn't had the best track record with the team. Brett Maher was a pleasant surprise, but his kicking issues late in the season sealed his fate.

If the team is looking for another veteran that they have experience with then Nick Folk could be a player to keep an eye on.

The Patriots drafted a kicker this year and while it doesn't mean he will make the roster, the team has more incentive to see him make the roster after spending draft capital on one. That leaves Folk as the odd man out and possibly in search of a new team.

By converting 4-of-5 field goals from 50 or more yards last season, Folk showed he still has a big leg. The only issue that may come into play is Folk's inability to induce touchbacks (he registered just three in 2022). Still, he could be a last resort

He has shown he still has a big leg converting 4-5 50+ yard field goals, something Dallas like to do, the only issue that may come into play for Folk is his inability to get touchbacks registering just three last season. Folk could be a last resort if they desperately need a kicker.
