1. Ronald Jones, RB

After an intense first padded practice of training camp, news broke that Ronald Jones will be suspended the first two games of the 2023 season for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy.

Jones inked a one-year contract with Dallas in free agency, not long after the team released Ezekiel Elliott. The 25-year-old is eligible to practice during camp and play in preseason, but he'll effectively be suspended from Sept. 3 through Sept. 18. He can report back to the team a day after its Week 2 game.

Many folks didn't foresee Jones making the 53-man roster to begin with. The fact he's now suspended for taking PEDs further harms his chances. Why would the Cowboys keep a guy who isn't much better -- if at all -- than their other options at the position and won't even be available for the first two games?

Mind you, this came after Mike McCarthy showered praise on behalf of Rico Dowdle, Malik Davis and Deuce Vaugn before Monday's practice. At best, Jones is fourth on the depth chart, and it's possible he's even lower than that.
