After a win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving, nobody is feeling better than Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Jones was highly scrutinized for the Micah Parsons trade, and justifiably so. He was highly scrutinized for being optimistic about players coming back from injury after the bye week, and justifiably so.
But you've got to tip your cap to him in this situation. Not only are the Dallas Cowboys playing well at the best possible time, but they have seen drastic improvements on the defensive side of the ball. A key reason for that has been the blockbuster trade to bring in defensive lineman Quinnen Williams from the Jets.
As good as Williams is, and has been, not even Cowboys fans are buying Jones's claim about what he allegedly offered the Jets for Williams before the season started.
Jerry Jones says he offered Micah Parsons and a 1st-round pick for Quinnen Williams
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan said he offered the New York Jets a first-round pick and Micah Parsons for DT Quinnen Williams before the season started. "I thought that much of Williams."

You love to see Jerry Jones gassing up one of his players, who has been doing a phenomenal job. But you can also chalk this up as yet another opportunity for Jones to publicly take a little bit of a shot at Micah Parsons. It's clear that those negotiations not only soured from a business standpoint, but from a personal standpoint.
This report was even denied by Conor Hughes, who covers the New York Jets:
Zero doubt that Jerry said this. However this was never actually offered to the Jets, I’m told.

There was a conversation between owners. It was a brief one. A Cowboys source told me the Jets weren’t ever going to the monetary value needed to extend Parsons (discussed this Week… https://t.co/19a8L9KSZ1
So, Hughes does acknowledge that the Cowboys talked with the Jets at one point, but that's as far as it went. The Jets, who hired a new GM and head coach this offseason, weren't in the right position as an organization to bring on a player like Parsons considering the financial compensation required.
That part is believable and understandable.
But it also does speak to the fact that, even without a ridiculously one-sided trade offer going to the Jets actually happening, Jones has likely been infatuated with Quinnen Williams for quite some time. Even though he doesn't play off the edge, Williams is one of the most disruptive players in the NFL on the defensive front, opening up opportunities for others around him as well as making plays on his own.
After their win against the Chiefs on Thanksgiving, the Cowboys have now announced their return to the rest of the NFL. Even though beating the Chiefs may not carry the same luster it did even last season, it's still a massive win for Dallas coming on the heels of a comeback from down 21-0 against the Eagles.
To beat the reigning AFC and NFC champions in consecutive games is wild enough, but to do it in four days?
It's no wonder Jerry is feeling himself a little bit. His vision is coming to fruition.
