The 2025 NFL schedule is out and football fans are furious that the Dallas Cowboys will be on primetime six times this season. That is more than the rival Eagles and Commanders, who each have five primetime affairs. Only the Chiefs will be on primetime more than Dallas.
As expected, the Cowboys lapped the Giants in the primetime department. New York will only play under the bright lights three times in 2025. While more than eight other teams, it still is in the lower third of the league, which is objectively where they belong.
After all, it is still baffling that the Giants decided to keep head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen after arguably the worst year in franchise history. It stands to reason they stand on shaky ground entering the new season, but Daboll more so than Schoen since he's ultimately the one responsible for the performance on the field.
Assuming a decision is not made until after the season, the NFL has gifted Dallas the chance to get Daboll canned by New York.
Cowboys can get Brian Daboll fired by the Giants in 2025
The Cowboys and Giants will lock horns right out of the gate in Week 2 and won't play again until the regular-season finale in Week 18.
Many are speculating if Daboll will survive New York's nightmarish opening stretch of games, but it is doubtful that owner John Mara would pull the plug on Daboll mid-season after he was given the freedom to draft quarterback Jaxon Dart in the first round. The Giants actually traded back into round one to get Dart, who Daboll reportedly liked more than the other top QB prospects.

The Cowboys ending the Giants' season with a lopsided loss at MetLife Stadium could be the straw that broke Daboll's back.
Think about it.
The Giants face the Commanders, Cowboys, Chiefs and Chargers to start the campaign. They get a reprieve in Week 5 against the Saints, but playing in New Orleans is never a cakewalk. From there, they have the Eagles, Broncos, Eagles again, 49ers, Bears, Packers and Lions before they get the Patriots in Week 13 on the road on Monday Night Football.
Coming out of the bye, New York has the Commanders, the Vikings, who won 14 games last season, and the Pete Carroll-led Raiders before the finale against Dallas.
Putting the rivalry to the side, how many wins do you predict for the G-Men? Five at most? Would that be enoug to save Daboll's job? If they're at four wins going into Week 18, a loss could seal his fate once and for all.
That would give Dallas plenty to play for.
