It's certainly no secret that Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys didn't exactly part ways on the greatest of terms, as the all-world edge rusher was shockingly shipped to the Green Bay Packers last August after he and Jerry Jones failed to find common ground on a long-term extension.
His absence was obviously noticeable this past year, as the Dallas defense was easily one of the worst in the league, while Parsons continued to wreak havoc wearing the Green & Gold. Despite missing the final few games of the year after suffering a torn ACL in Week 15, the Penn State alum still earned a fifth consecutive trip to the Pro Bowl, a third First-Team All-Pro nod, and a third-place finish in the Defensive Player of the Year voting after racking up 12.5 sacks in his 14 appearances.
Now, it's also no secret that Parsons has no problem taking shots at his former team when given the chance, and he certainly took a few on Thursday night during the opening round of the 2026 NFL Draft, which he watched alongside New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers as part of the livestreaming event put on by the folks at Bleacher Report.
Micah Parsons referenced his reaction to last year's draft and made light of being traded by the Cowboys
When the Giants went on the clock at No. 5 overall, Nabers was asked what his thoughts would be if his team opted to select a wide receiver, and he certainly had no problem admitting that it would not sit well with him.
He offered up a scenario two years from now where he'd be looking for a contract extension that Big Blue might not have to give him if they had another top-tier wideout on the roster, saying they could just trade him.
And it was that point that Parsons couldn't help himself, as he responded by saying, "Hey, that's how it gets, buddy. Welcome to my world." Naturally, everyone erupted in laughter, but it's safe to say that Cowboys fans everywhere were crying a little inside.
#Giants WR Malik Nabers on what would happen if the Giants took a WR at #5:

“You’re gonna pay him more than me and I’m your #1 WR. When he’s in Year 3 and I need a contract… you gonna just trade Malik.”
Micah Parsons’ reaction: “Welcome to my world.” 😂

A short time later, when the Cowboys made the trade with the Miami Dolphins to move up one spot to take Caleb Downs at No. 11 overall, Nabers was visibly (and hilariously) upset, as he clearly wanted the Giants to select the Ohio State safety.
As soon as the selection was made, Nabers stood up and threw his arms in the air in disgust, and Parsons simply laughed at him and said, "He looks like me on draft day last year."
Now, for those who may not remember, Parsons, like Nabers was with Downs, was visibly upset a year ago at this time when wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, who was easily the fan favorite for Dallas fans, went off the board at No. 8 to the Carolina Panthers.
And he certainly didn't seem all that ecstatic when the Cowboys took Tyler Booker at No. 12. That was a common theme among fans, but Booker made the move look a lot better with a solid rookie season.
Nevertheless, while seemingly all in good fun, Micah bringing that back up could end up rubbing a few people the wrong way, not that he would care.
To his credit, Parsons had nothing but great things to say when Downs made an appearance on the show, telling him that he is undoubtedly the guy for the Cowboys' defense moving forward. So, there was at least something positive that came out of it.
