The Dallas Cowboys took another offseason loss Wednesday morning, watching Trey Hendrickson agree to a four-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens.

This all comes after the NFL offseason took the turn of all turns on Tuesday evening, when the Las Vegas Raiders announced that the Ravens pulled out of the trade for Maxx Crosby.

The star defender didn’t pass Baltimore’s physical, so the franchise elected not to send its two first-round picks to Las Vegas.

The Ravens then pivoted to Trey Hendrickson, who they committed $120 million to, over the next four seasons. The deal removes Hendrickson as an option for the Cowboys, as the team continues to miss out on the biggest edge defenders of NFL free agency.

The Dallas Cowboys will move forward without Trey Hendrickson and Maxx Crosby

While Dallas did miss out on Hendrickson, the chaos of Baltimore pulling out of the trade does give the Cowboys another shot at landing Crosby.

However, it was quickly reported that Dallas is moving on from Crosby, and is comfortable going forward with Rashan Gary, who they agreed to acquire in a trade from the Green Bay Packers.

It also seems like the Cowboys weren’t as interested in Hendrickson as people assumed. Following the announcement that he agreed to terms with Baltimore, terms on a deal with Baltimore,ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler shared that the Indianapolis Colts, the Buffalo Bills, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Washington Commanders, and the Philadelphia Eagles were involved before the Ravens ultimately won.

With the veteran defender getting a four-year deal, at $28 million a year, Dallas could have been uncomfortable committing that much to Hendrickson.

Whatever the reason, the front office didn’t seem motivated to add the productive edge defender, and they don’t seem motivated now to go after Maxx Crosby again, now that the team that originally outbid them has pulled out of the deal.

Ultimately, the Cowboys have Rashan Gary, and they seem comfortable with him being their biggest addition. Meanwhile, Maxx Crosby is back in Vegas, and his future remains a mystery, and Trey Hendrickson is planning to join the Baltimore Ravens.

If the recent news reminded the NFL world of anything, it’s that none of this can become official until the start of the new league year on March 11 at 4 pm ET.
