As the Dallas Cowboys finally met their match after their three-game winning streak, their defense went back to its roots with an abysmal performance in a 44-30 loss.
This time, it didn't have to do much with talent on the field, but more so about the personnel decision to leave one of their unpopular defenders on the field. Kenneth Murray Jr., who's been downright dreadful this season, has gotten a ton more snaps than new linebacker Logan Wilson.
We're not necessarily saying Wilson would've made the difference, but Murray hasn't provided an ounce of hope even with DeMarvion Overshown by his side at linebacker. This is something that fans will demand answers to, whether it comes from the voice of Brian Schottenheimer or Matt Eberflus.
Cowboys' coaches must answer for Kenneth Murray Jr. getting more snaps than Logan Wilson
Many fans and those in the media are wondering why Logan Wilson wasn't getting at least as many snaps as Murray. The former Oklahoma Sooner was getting cooked all night and even got his ankles broken by Jahmyr Gibbs after he was late to react to a short pass to the speedy RB.
Obviously, tackling Gibbs in open space is easier said than done, as he's established himself as one of the more dynamic playmakers with the football in his hands. DaRon Bland also missed a tackle when he went against Gibbs, but make no mistake, Murray was a much bigger problem.
When the Cowboys traded for Wilson, it seemed like we would get a nice combination of Wilson and DeMarvion Overshown on the field. Instead, Murray not only got his ankles broken, but he also went the wrong way on a touchdown run by Lions' running back David Montgomery, which prompted a visceral reaction from fans on social media.

Trading for Quinnen Williams was a win for the Cowboys, and fans were hoping to see Wilson eat into Murray's workload, but they haven't gotten that opportunity. Eberflus must answer for this. He is continuously hurting the defense by having Murray out there.
This was an absolute must-win for the Cowboys more than it was for the Lions, and Dallas needs a lot more help -- on top of winning out -- to get into the playoffs. If there's any fighting chance left for America's Team, the Chargers have to beat the Eagles on Monday night.
But it might not matter if Murray continues to play over 30 snaps every week.
