You know what? The tide could indeed be turning for the Dallas Cowboys. After another year, last year, when fans thought Jerry Jones was just going to be the same guy, making the same questionable and polarizing decisions, maybe he's turned a corner.
With Quinnen Williams and some draft capital to show for last year's Micah Parsons saga, the Cowboys might actually be in play to make some serious moves this offseason, and of course, one of them may end up being a trade for star pass rusher Maxx Crosby.
We've talked at length, recently, about a potential Crosby trade to Dallas. And as of today, things are looking more and more real.
According to Draft Kings Sports Book, the Cowboys now have +700 odds to be Crosby's next team.
So, there could be legitimate hope for Dallas to pull off what would be the ultimate reconciliation project between the organization and fans.
Where do the Dallas Cowboys rank in the latest odds to land Maxx Crosby?
Taking a look at the latest, as of today, the Cowboys are tied with a few other teams at their +700 odds.
Maxx Crosby next team odds (per Draft Kings)
Chicago Bears +200
Las Vegas Raiders +350
Dallas Cowboys +700
Baltimore Ravens +700
Los Angeles Rams +700
Philadelphia Eagles +700
Buffalo Bills +700
New England Patriots +1000
Detroit Lions +1200
Tampa Bay Buccaneers +1200
The thing that sticks out, here, is the three other NFC contenders higher up on this list in the Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams. Of those three, seeing Crosby head to Philadelphia would be a total nightmare.
Let's hope that one doesn't happen.
The Bears and Rams would turn into even stronger contenders, of course, but just imagine Crosby in Dallas.
A few months back, this fan base was irate at the thought of trading away arguably the best pass rusher in the league not named Myles Garrett.
Trading away Parsons to come away with Williams and Crosby? Maybe Jerry wasn't as crazy as we thought for making that move (or maybe he's just going to get lucky that it worked out for him).
The Cowboys have a chance to add even more talent via the 2026 NFL Draft after a potential Crosby trade. Being in a tough spot, cap-wise, the Cowboys' best chance at adding talent now is to go after a player like Crosby, execute some contract restructures and get cap compliant, but then nail what draft picks they still have left.
That's getting into "later" type problems, but for now, let's just relish in the fact that Dallas is, in fact, in play for Crosby.
