This season has gone much of the way most Dallas Cowboys fans feared it would and, after an embarrassing home loss to the Arizona Cardinals, owner Jerry Jones was asked about potential coaching changes.
His answer was a little murky, but reading between the lines, one could tell that there is definitely a door open to make some. And, as Cowboys beat reporter Patrik Walker pointed out, this was the first time Jones was "noncommittal" with this type of question.
"I'm not commenting on what type of adjustments that may be made," he started out. But, Jones quickly started talking more about "adjustments." Even though he was vague, Jones sure didn't shy away from continuing to speak.
Jerry Jones leaves Cowboys fans thinking there's an opening for staff changes during the bye week
"I'm sure they'll be some adjustments this coming week, but the nature of them, whether it's on personnel -- whether it's offense or defense -- I'm not pinpointing tonight at all," he went on.
"I did not plan on sitting here addressing some of the issues that we had tonight. But obviously, what it is, is what it is, so we'll address it."
Well, that is about as telling an answer as Cowboys fans have heard from Jerry all season long. He seemed to fumble through his words (no surprise, there) as his hesitancy was obvious.

Of course, one of the major changes Jones could make is on the defensive side of the ball in potentially firing defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. On Monday night, the defense gave up 340 yards of offense to a team that had lost five in a row.
Sure, for only the second time all year, the Cowboys' offense didn't score 20 points. However, this just goes to show, once more, that Dallas cannot depend on their offense week-in and week-out. Each side of the ball is going to have their bad games. That's just the nature of the NFL.
The offense is going to be fine. We know this team can put up points. But, what we have yet to see all year long, is a defense that can disallow points. The fewest points Dallas' defense has allowed an opposing team is still 22, and they did it twice.
Otherwise, Eberflus' unit has been quite literally the worst in the NFL. So, if anyone is on the chopping block during the bye week, it's absolutely him.
Now, will Jones actually have the guts to make it happen? Don't hold your breath.
