It took one practice for George Pickens to turn Cowboys minicamp into his own stage

The Pickens hype is out of control, and rightfully so. He's been dominant.

Is it too early to call George Pickens the biggest winner of offseason workouts? Probably so, but Pickens has been as good as advertised since the Dallas Cowboys returned to the practice field.

While most of the focus to start mandatory minicamp was on Micah Parsons and his contract, Pickens made sure to steal the spotlight back from his new teammate.

Cowboys reporters in attendance couldn't help but notice the bubbling chemistry between Pickens and quarterback Dak Prescott. Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram had Pickens down for five receptions during team drills, including a nifty catch on a comeback route with Israel Mukuamu in coverage.

That was not Pickens' only highlight of the day.

George Pickens already dominating Cowboys minicamp is a great sign

Patrik Walker of the team' official website cataloged that Prescott and Pickens hooked up for multiple big gainers. Walker noted one catch that Pickens brought down in double coverage had CeeDee Lamb "yelling and dancing" on the other side of the field.

How about one more for good measure? Tommy Yarrish, also of the team's official website, said "nobody" could guard Pickens, adding that "he and Dak Prescott are starting to get comfortable with one another."

If that doesn't get you excited, then what will? We personally have goosebumps running up and down our arms.

Yes, it is only minicamp. Defensive backs can't be overly physical in coverage until training camp. However, Lamb's reaction said it all. It has been multiple years since Dallas had two receivers who can get open consistently. Not since five-time Pro Bowler Amari Cooper donned the No. 19 for America's Team has Lamb had a legitimate running mate to help take the pressure off.

Prescott oftentimes had tunnel vision for Lamb in recent seasons and would attempt to wedge passes into impossible windows. It will be on Prescott to go through his progressions, but if Lamb is ever blanketed Pickens should be open or at the very least have single coverage. It is early, but Prescott seems to have utmost confidence in Pickens reeling in those passes.

If you thought the Pickens hype was through the roof, just wait until reporters are allowed to record videos during practice. We haven't even seen his athleticism on display yet.
