By preseason standards, the Dallas Cowboys' opening game against the Seattle Seahawks wasn't a terrible watch. Maybe that's the return of football talking, but the quarterback play was vastly improved compared to last year, when Joe Milton really struggled to move the offense.
Poor QB play inherently makes for a rough watch, but both Milton and Sam Howell played well in Seattle, and Dallas will be hoping for similar results Saturday night versus the Arizona Cardinals.
Of course, backup quarterback is hardly the only position battle that needs clarity. While all preseason games carry importance, Week 2 sits right in the golden window where the 53-man roster gets decided.
A lot is on the line in Arizona, making for a must-see game, even if it's a late start for our East Coast Cowboys fans. Here's how you can take in the action.
How to watch Cowboys vs. Cardinals on TV
Catch all the action locally on CBS 11 this Saturday. Bill Jones has the call, ex-Cowboys receiver Isaiah Stanback will break down the plays, and Nicole Hutchison will have exclusive sideline coverage.
If you're out of market, NFL Network will carry a national broadcast. Last week’s game featured the Seahawks' crew, and it made for a rough listen. Hopefully, NFL Network carries the Dallas feed this week so Cowboys fans can listen to Jones, Stanback, and Hutchison instead.

Cowboys injuries to watch vs. Cardinals
Jaishawn Barham - LB
Barham is expected to make his preseason debut after missing Week 1 and multiple practices with a groin injury. The backup quarterback and RB2 battles will have a lot of eyes on them, but if you had to circle one player to watch, Barham would be at the top of the list given his early training camp hype and versatility on defense.
Michael Trigg - TE
Trigg hasn't practiced all week due to a toe injury. The Cowboys don't seem concerned, and he made a great impression against Seattle, but with Luke Schoonmaker reportedly having a good week of practice, Trigg is slowly watching his roster hopes slip away.
James Houston - OLB
Houston was one of several Cowboys who left early in Thursday's practice. He showed up with two sacks in the preseason opener, seemingly solidifying a roster spot.
Jay Toia, Kelvin Gilliam - DT
Already pushing boulders uphill to make the team in a crowded defensive tackle room, neither Toia nor Gilliam can afford to miss time. Not being able to suit up on Saturday could prove fatal to their roster hopes.
DJ Rogers - TE
Another player who needs to play, Rogers was among Dallas' walking wounded Thursday. Granted, none of the injuries seemed serious, but after fumbling in his Cowboys debut, the former TCU star could really use a bounce-back performance.
