George Pickens is a Dallas Cowboy if you have not heard, but what would a contract extension look like for the fourth-year receiver? The major trade may have given Dallas the best WR duo in the NFL heading into the 2025 season.

And it's clear who this offense is going to feature. Dak Prescott has to be over-the-moon excited with the lethal duo of Pickens and CeeDee Lamb, who is a top-three receiver in this league. However, the Cowboys aren't the Cowboys without some dysfunction and uncertainty.

Not only does Micah Parsons not have a contract extension, but I am not sure the team has even given a thought on the idea of extending George Pickens, who is entering the final year of his rookie deal. Since Pickens is a No. 1-caliber receiver and is still quite young, the extension would not be cheap. Could Jerry Jones be able to pull this type of deal off?

Will the Dallas Cowboys be able to afford George Pickens?

According to spotrac.com, George Pickens' market value would be a four-year deal worth about $101 million, coming in at about $25 million per season.

Yes, $25 million per season. It's a huge number, but it also might be warranted with the type of receiver contracts being handed out. Through three years in the NFL, George Pickens has averaged 62 receptions, 1,006 yards, and four touchdowns on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

This is high-level production despite Pittsburgh having sub-par QB production. When you think about it, the Cowboys could do themselves a huge favor for years to come on offense if they got a deal done.

It would give this unit a massive and perhaps unbeatable identity, and spilling money into the WR room is honestly something becoming way more common in the NFL. Multiple teams have committed significant resources to two receivers, including the Eagles, Bengals, Dolphins, Buccaneers and Commanders.

As of right now, it would be shocking to see the Cowboys prioritizing an extension for George Pickens, but if Jerry Jones could pull it off, it would be an all-time test he aces.
