It feels like regardless of what the Dallas Cowboys accomplish, Dak Prescott is always getting hated on. If they win, he isn't doing enough, and if they lose Prescott is primarily to blame, and these narratives are getting repetitive at this point. They could not be any less accurate, honestly.
Prescott had arguably the best statistical season of his career in 2025, but it's flown under the radar because the Cowboys missed the playoffs. And even that wasn't his fault, are we forgetting about how historically terrible the Dallas defense was because Matt Eberflus was calling plays?
During Super Bowl media week, radio host and Cowboys reporter Bobby Belt spoke to ex-Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz, where he asked him about playing with Prescott, and whether or not the hate he receives is warranted. As expected, Schultz had nothing but glowing things to say about his former QB.
"People don't understand what a quarterback can do for a program when you have as much integrity and as much leadership as he does," Schultz said. "(That's) truly, like galvanizing to an entire franchise."
"He believed in me before I did. I was a young guy, doubting myself at times, and he didn't give a damn. He's like, dude, the ball is coming to you because I believe in you ... We could be here for 30 minutes just singing his praises. I (expletive) love the guy."
This is well worth your 2 minutes today...

Ex-Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz had big praise for Dak Prescott
The fact that the veteran tight end hasn't played for the Cowboys since 2022, and still has this much praise for Prescott is telling. The average Joe hasn't spent time around Prescott or learned from him, so calling him out from the couch doesn't mean much when his old teammates continue to sing his praises.
The 29-year-old was drafted by the Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft in the offseason that immediately followed Jason Witten's original retirement and eventually broke out because of his rapport with Prescott, which definitely stemmed from a place of belief in him.
Schultz also revealed that when he was a young player, Dak was the role model for the type of NFL player he wanted to be and doubled down by saying he owes most of his success to him. And he's paying those lessons forward by becoming a vital leader in the locker room for the Houston Texans.
People often forget the impact an elite quarterback can have on a locker room, since the rest of the roster is rallying behind them, and Prescott is one of the best in the business at that. The four-time Pro Bowler has proven time and again that he is an elite QB, but he's also a high-character individual.
In all honesty, Schultz's words all but confirmed that the noise surrounding his former QB is just that: noise. It doesn't matter when the truth is there if you pull back the curtain.
