The Dallas Cowboys have had the offseason from heaven. As Jerry Jones looks to put America's Team back on top, the draft class for 2025 has been praised for some steals, especially after day one.
With the Tyler Booker pick being met with much controversy, the other picks were solid. Donovan Ezeiruaku will provide great depth up front, being one of the most athletic pass rushers in his class. Shavon Revel looks to be the next great Cowboys cornerback. He's also great at stopping the run, which is exactly what Dallas needed.
The Cowboys may struck the biggest steal for their future with their fifth-round pick, Jaydon Blue from Texas. It's got some ESPN insiders already putting Blue over the veteran running backs that Dallas signed earlier this offseason.
ESPN analysts say Cowboys' Jaydon Blue will end up starting at RB
On ESPN's 'NFL Live,' the crew talked about how George Pickens would be a nice fit for Dallas' receiving depth. Former NFL quarterback and analyst Dan Orlovsky and reporter Adam Schefter went all in on Blue and how he believes the coaching staff will eventually see him as starting material.
"I think Jaydon Blue is going to end up being the starting tailback," Dan Orlovsky said.
Schefter reiterated Orlovsky's claim by saying what Cowboy fans were all thinking from before.
"I think (the Cowboys) really like Jaydon Blue in the backfield there," Schefter said.
The hype around Blue has been nothing short of a false alarm. Blue has been compared to some of the more prominent backs around the league like De'Von Achane. Achane has been one of the more exciting players in the NFL over the past two years.
If Blue does live up to the hype, he would beat out guys on the depth chart like Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, making way for some tough decisions for the Jones family.
We'll have to see if this excitement comes true on the gridiron, but it's safe to say the Cowboys' depth at tailback is already miles better than last season.
