On paper, the 2025 Dallas Cowboys should be able to fight for a playoff birth. While Cowboys fans don't know what to expect from first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer, the offense is in a great spot with a young offensive line and George Pickens pairing with CeeDee Lamb at wide receiver.

ESPN analyst and former NFL offensive lineman Damien Woody believes the Cowboys' offense has enormous potential this season. On ESPN's "First Take," Woody credited the offensive line as being the most significant difference to take the offense back to the heights it reached in 2023.

"If the Dallas Cowboys offensive line, which they've heavily invested in as far as draft capital, if those guys come together, there's no question in my mind that the Cowboys will be top five with the weapons that they have," Woody said.

Cowboys having a top five offense in 2025 is more realistic than some may think

Even though the Cowboys have major questions as to who will start at running back, the offensive line might be the ultimate elixir.

As for Prescott, the offensive line will be key for him to locate Lamb and Pickens down the field. While Prescott has a lot to prove, he is two years removed from being a top-three quarterback in the sport, and he's never had a WR duo as talented as Lamb and Pickens.

Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky has been the bearer of some bad news for Cowboys fans regarding their front seven. He strongly disagreed with Woody's take (shocker, right?, taking an anti-Cowboys stance to say that Dallas isn't top five material at all.

Orlovsky thinks the Cowboys offense will be worse off than the Commanders, Eagles, Buccaneers, Vikings and Packers.

Right off the bat, it's foolish to compare Dak Prescott to J.J. McCarthy. It is also careless to say that the Tampa Bay offensive line is better than Dallas. Do we even know if Terry McLaurin is going to play for Washington this season? The point is that it takes a balanced offense to be one of the best.

Let's hope Woody's words come to life. Schottenheimer has all the tools he needs, and now it's up to him to put them all together.
