The Dallas Cowboys may have a reputation as a big brand that swings for the fences, but Jerry Jones and the rest of the front office have spent the last few seasons largely sitting on their hands in trade season and free agency, outside of extending many of their best internal players.

The Cowboys made their biggest external free agent signing in years during this offseason, and it was a one-year deal for a former player in Dante Fowler Jr. Dallas may need to end up making a move in the 2025 NFL Draft, and NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah is urging them to make a move that would send shockwaves throughout the league.

Jeremiah, pining for the days when the Cowboys would throw caution to the wind and make some big moves, is begging the Cowboys to make a move into the top-four picks of the draft and select Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter.

There are no sure things in the draft, but Hunter's playmaking ability is so special that it could help him become an immediate standout player on both sides of the field. If any player in this draft can shock the Cowboys' system in the short term, it's him.

Hunter is unlikely to make it out of the top four picks in the NFL Draft. With it looking more likely than ever that Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders will be picked by quarterback-needy teams high in the order, the two teams that don't pick quarterbacks will likely select either Hunter or Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter.

While the ammunition needed to make this move would be seismic, one can't deny the fact that that brining Hunter to this Cowboys team would supercharge their retooling attempts. Hunter could be an immediate contender to make an All-Pro team as a cornerback while contributing as a secondary wide receiver.

Adding Hunter would be another way to compete in a division that is starting to leave the Cowboys in the dust. Both the Eagles and Commanders have established themselves as championship contenders, and the Cowboys need at least one more star before they can be regarded as a serious challenger.

While improbable, nothing in the draft should be considered impossible. If the Cowboys go for broke, Hunter may end up with the star on the side of his helmet.
