Cowboys savant took a hilarious (but true) shot at the Giants and Commanders

Hilarious. And also true.

The past few days have been all about the Dallas Cowboys' schedule release. We're in the thick of the offseason, of course, and fans have long awaited what media teams refer to as their very own Super Bowl.

Well, the schedule is out, and the Cowboys have an interesting wrinkle added to the very beginning and tail end. Dallas will take on the New York Giants and Washington Commanders in Weeks 1 and 2, and they'll also end the season with both, respectively.

Jeff Cavanaugh, of All-City DLLS, recently reacted to this portion of the schedule accordingly:

"You get Bum 1 and Bum 2 to get you to 2-0, and you get Bum 1 and Bum 2 to get you the playoffs."

From here on out, we now refer to the Giants as "Bum 1" and the Commanders are, of course, "Bum 2."

The Dallas Cowboys' runway to begin and end their 2026 season with a bang is set

While Giants and Commanders fans are probably busy trying to cope, Cowboys fans couldn't agree more. First and foremost, the Cowboys are undoubtedly the most-improved team out of these three.

Dallas' offseason saw them add talent to much-needed areas and, specifically in the draft, they bolstered the defense in a big way. Dallas' offense is already locked and loaded to be a top-5 unit so long as health is on their side. We don't need to argue about that. It's going to happen.

As for the Giants, they are led by a quarterback who simply cannot even take care of himself. Sure, Jaxson Dart is fun to watch at times. But, his reckless play style is one that is going to get him in trouble.

And, he has not shown a single bit of remorse for it. Dart has publicly stated that this is simply how he plays. Even though he's begging for an injury on one out of every five plays, it seems, he's going to keep playing his way.

That's not even mentioning the fact that Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo are coming off major injuries and probably won't be fully up to speed to begin the year. You can pencil in a 'W' for Week 1.

As for the Commanders, you're looking at the worst defense in the NFL for 2025. Everyone wanted to talk about the Cowboys, but Washington gave up 384.0 yards per game, which was good for most in the league.

They're supposedly led by a defensive guru in Dan Quinn, whom the Cowboys know well, of course. But, 2025 was an abysmal showing by Quinn's unit. They also finished tied for sixth-worst in terms of turnovers last year, with just 17 all season.

Is Jayden Daniels going to be healthy? Is he able to do anything differently after his rookie campaign so the league doesn't completely figure him out? We still don't fully know who Daniels is after Year 1.

To top things off, let's not forget these two teams went a combined 9-25 last year. Those are just the facts.

As of right now, Cavanaugh isn't off-base at all. The Cowboys are a better football team than both the Giants and the Commanders, and fans should be thrilled with how this schedule wrinkle worked out.
