The Dallas Cowboys have made it a priority to retool their defensive line. After losing out on Maxx Crosby, they brought in Rashan Gary from the Green Bay Packers to reunite with tackle Kenny Clark.

On Wednesday, the Cowboys traded away defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a third-round draft pick.

Minutes later, Dallas decided to trade away another defensive tackle.

According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Cowboys are trading away defensive tackle Solomon Thomas and a 2026 seventh-round pick (No. 225 overall) to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a 2026 seventh-rounder (No. 218 overall).

The Dallas Cowboys trade Solomon Thomas to Titans right after dealing Osa Odighizuwa to 49ers

Talk about a busy Wednesday night for the Cowboys. First, they moved on from Odighizuwa, a year after signing him to a four-year, $80 million contract extension. Now, Thomas was shown the door a matter of minutes later.

Thomas being dealt to Tennessee does make sense. The Titans' head coach is Robert Saleh, who was Thomas' defensive coordinator when he was selected No. 3 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, and his head coach when Thomas signed on with the New York Jets in 2022.

The fact that Saleh wanted to bring in Thomas is not shocking whatsoever, especially considering all of the former Jets players he brought to Tennessee so far this offseason.

Last offseason, Thomas signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the Cowboys, where he was essentially a rotational option off the bench. In 16 games, Thomas recorded 27 total tackles (10 solo, 17 assisted), three tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, and one pass breakup.

Let's be real, there wasn't much room left for Thomas on the Cowboys. They brought in Clark before the start of last season with the Micah Parsons trade. Then, at the trade deadline, the Cowboys acquired Quinnen Williams from the Jets. So, those two spots are locked in.

Odighizuwa was a bit of a surprise exit. But Thomas didn't really have a secure spot to begin with. Yet now, he gets a chance to play for his former longtime coach in Tennessee.
