Heading into this 2025 NFL offseason, the Dallas Cowboys had a plethora of players set to hit the open market.

Some, of course, were re-signed to new contracts before free agency officially began on March 12, a list that includes Osa Odighizuwa, C.J. Goodwin, Brock Hoffman, Tyrus Wheat, Juanyeh Thomas, Markquese Bell, Trent Sieg, KaVontae Turpin, and Bryan Anger.

On the flip side of things, America's Team said goodbye to several others, including longtime fan favorite (not so much anymore) DeMarcus Lawrence, who signed a three-year, $32.5 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks.

Dallas also lost a second defensive end in Chauncey Golston, who stayed in the NFC East but will now suit up for the New York Giants after agreeing to a three-year contract worth up to $19.5 million.

In addition, a pair of now-former Cowboys are headed to the Jacksonville Jaguars, as cornerback Jourdan Lewis signed a three-year, $30 million contract, while offensive lineman Chuma Edoga could collect up to $7 million over the next two years.

After eight seasons in Big D, quarterback Cooper Rush, who went 9-5 in 14 starts over the years whenever Dak Prescott went down, has also found a new home backing up Lamar Jackson with the Baltimore Ravens.

And last but certainly not least, running back Rico Dowdle, who came on strong late in the year to earn the first 1,000-yard season of his career, inked a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers worth $3 million but could grow to as much as $6.5 million.

With all that said, at the time of this writing, there are still many players who spent this past season with the Cowboys who still haven't secured employment for the 2025 campaign.

Every Cowboys free agent still without a home for the 2025 NFL season

By our count, there are still eight Cowboys free agents who've yet to sign a new contract.

Among them is quarterback Trey Lance, who made his lone start for the Cowboys in the 2024 regular-season finale against the Washington Commanders.

Given how poorly the Lance experiment as a whole played out over the last two seasons, it's safe to say the 2021 No. 3 overall pick will not have a star on the side of his helmet if and when he takes his next NFL snap.

The same can probably be said for wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who wasn't nearly as productive as the Cowboys needed him to be the last two seasons, ultimately catching 80 balls for 916 yards with 11 touchdowns in 26 games between the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Still in the unemployment line alongside, Lance and Cooks are linebacker Eric Kendricks, defensive tackle Linval Joseph, linebacker Nick Vigil, defensive end Carlos Watkins, cornerback Amani Oruwariye, and defensive end Carl Lawson.
