Cowboys fans will laugh hysterically at this ridiculous Day 1 draft grade

This is too funny.

The Dallas Cowboys are kicking off NFL Draft weekend as arguably the happiest team in the league. They landed Caleb Downs, widely viewed as a top-three player in the class, after a savvy trade down with the Miami Dolphins to No. 11.

The Cowboys then traded down three spots with the Eagles, picking up selections No. 114 and No. 137 along with Central Florida edge rusher Malachi Lawrence.

Coming off arguably the worst season in franchise history, Dallas added a do-it-all safety and an edge defender with rare size and explosive burst off the corner.

Apparently, that wasn't enough for CBS Sports, which couldn't help but trash Dallas' move to draft Lawrence. The Eagles, who needed a new receiver amid the A.J. Brown drama, selected USC star Makai Lemon at No. 20. CBS loved the Eagles' move and gave them an 'A', but gave the Cowboys a D.

CBS Sports gives the Dallas Cowboys a 'D' grade in the trade to draft Malachi Lawrence

You can never get credit where it's due, Cowboys fans. Despite fixing the weaker parts of their defense with absolute studs, the most polarizing team in the world will always have a target on its back.

Honestly, the Lemon move is about the best move the Eagles could've made. Even Cowboys fans would agree that Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith are resting easy, knowing they have one of the best receivers in the class coming to Philly.

But to give the Cowboys a 'D' when they got their defensive building blocks and more draft capital is genuinely insane. Jerry Jones clearly fleeced Philly, and picking up two extra fourth-round picks is everything when Dallas doesn't have a second round to look forward to.

It's hard to tell what the difference would've been for CBS Sports to give Dallas a nicer grade. Did they want to see Jerry Jones get Miami edge Akheem Mesidor instead? Considering he was still on the board after No. 20, maybe. Either way, Cowboys fans are all smiles after Day 1, and rightfully so.

It's another day for the haters to hate, even though the Cowboys walked out as the biggest winners (by far) in Round 1.
