Cowboys fans will crack up over this Eagles radio host's conspiracy rant

Excuse me, what?

Coming out of the release of the Dallas Cowboys' schedule, we all had our own takes and opinions. Of course, the most exciting part -- outside of the social media Super Bowl -- was to be able to plan out the games you're attending and trips you'll wind up taking.

When it comes to those trips, for the teams at least, there is a key advantage or disadvantage depending on which side you're looking at: rest. And, one Philadelphia Eagles radio host was pretty upset with what he viewed to be a significant advantage for the Cowboys, versus a disadvantage for Philly.

Joe Giglio of 94WIP saw that the Eagles ended up being at the bottom of the NFL in terms of "rest advantage," meaning Philadelphia was going to be playing a bunch of teams coming off their bye week and having had a good amount of rest. On the flip side, the Cowboys were up near the top, which apparently nudged Giglio into a long-winded rant on why the Eagles got screwed:

"If you go look at the rest advantage, Eagles are at the bottom ... how about the team with the second or third-best rest advantage? ... it's the Dallas Cowboys. So not only did the Eagles get rocked here, by the NFL schedule makers ... they did the opposite with the Dallas Cowboys.

"If I was a conspiracy theorist...you know what I would say? The NFL wants the Dallas Cowboys to win the division."

I'm sorry, what schedule is this guy looking at? How in the world does he believe the league wants the Cowboys to win the division?

The Dallas Cowboys have anything but an easy 2026 schedule

First of all, let's get this first point abundantly clear and understood: the NFL likes money. If anything, the NFL loves the Cowboys because they bring in a truck load of money. Thus, the NFL schedule makers gave Dallas six prime time games in 2026.

But, prime time games don't necessarily mean the Cowboys are set up to win, so let's dig in deeper.

Actually, it doesn't take that deep of a dive to figure this one out. Let's just start with the fact that the Cowboys have to play three games in 11 days between Weeks 3-5. Not to mention, those three games are against Lamar Jackson and the revamped Baltimore Ravens, the Houston Texans who, by the way, are maybe the stingiest defense in the league, and then Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Dallas hosts Baltimore before traveling to Houston, and then has to turn around and travel home to face Tampa Bay just four days later.

The NFL might have given them a much-deserved mini bye after that tight stretch, but the Cowboys turn right back around and have to play the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles on the road.

During Weeks 12 and 13, when the playoff hunt really starts taking shape, Dallas has to play the Eagles and the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in back-to-back weeks.

And then, in Week 14, they finally get their bye.

The Eagles' biggest time crunch is only the four-day gap between playing the Steelers in Week 11 and then the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, which is of course a Thursday. But, that time crunch comes after Philly's bye week ... so, they'll be well-rested.

The notion that the league wants the Cowboys to win the division, based on their schedule, is absolutely ludicrous.

It is yet another perfect example of some biased, team radio host who wants to fill time and talk nonsense.

Do your research, next time.
