One of the areas some Dallas Cowboys fans are still very anxious over is in the cornerback room, and for good reason.

But, there is still a top-tier option available in free agency and Bleacher Report's Moe Moton agrees, Kendall Fuller is the perfect target for Jerry Jones at this point.

"The Cowboys secondary could have a rocky start to the upcoming season," Moton wrote.

"Team executive vice president Stephen Jones , "There's a good chance" cornerback Trevon Diggs misses the beginning of the campaign as he recovers from knee surgery. Rookie third-rounder Shavon Revel Jr. is working his way back from a torn ACL. Dallas lost slot cornerback Jourdan Lewis in free agency."

The big tidbit, here, is the recovery and future of Trevon Diggs. That's the part fans are most concerned about, right now.

Kendall Fuller is a versatile cornerback who's been a favorite of Pro Football Focus for a long time

Say what you will about Pro Football Focus, but they have loved Fuller for a while now. In both 2021 and 2023, he earned an overall grade over 80.0 which is very rare. For context, only five corners earned that high of a grade in 2024.

Moton made even more sense of Dallas potentially adding Fuller, noting his versatility.

"Dallas can bring in Fuller to shore up its pass coverage. He can line up outside to fill in for Diggs and transition into the slot if none of the young defensive backs impress in nickel duties."

The fact Fuller could play both outside and inside, for Dallas, is a huge reason to sign him. He's a proven veteran who, surprisingly, has never made a Pro Bowl. However, in nine seasons, Fuller has totaled 16 interceptions and 82 pass breakups over his career.

The Cowboys have a recent history of not going out and making splash moves in free agency, but this would be as good of a consolation as any, at this stage in the offseason. Jerry Jones should get it done, and if he does, fans will be far more relaxed about the state of the secondary.
