Perhaps the biggest surprise of the Dallas Cowboys' season transpired on Saturday when the team activated Trevon Diggs from injured reserve. Diggs would have reverted to season-ending IR if he hadn't been activated by Saturday.
Not only was Diggs active for Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, but he started and played a lot of snaps. Many Cowboys fans believed that Diggs, who was on IR because of a knee injury and a concussion suffered in an accident at his house, had played his last game for the franchise.
In keeping with the theme of surprises, Diggs peeled back the curtain to NFL Network's Jane Slater on what caused his concussion.
The former All-Pro told Slater that a television he was installing from the ceiling with a mount fell on his head. Slater shared a video on Twitter (or X) obtained from Diggs that shows the TV hanging from the pole mount. It is fairly easy to put together how the TV fell and how the impact caused a concussion.
Some of you wanted to know how Trevon Diggs got concussed. It was never that crazy but the lack of answers made it sound like it was. With his permission he shared and here’s the video of it.

Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs' concussion apparently was caused by a falling TV
Well, that settles that.
It was widely assumed that the details of Trevon Diggs’ concussion wouldn’t come out until after the season. However, as Jane Slater noted, the speculation on social media became too toxic.
While a television falling on your head mid-installation is embarrassing, it’s nowhere near as bad as what was speculated, even in the nicest corners of Cowboys social media. It does raise the question of why Diggs didn’t come clean sooner, as it would’ve saved him a lot of fan outrage.
That was ultimately his choice, though, and there’s little sense in dwelling on it. Now that it's out there, Diggs and Cowboys fans can move on.

The conversation now turns to Diggs' future with the team. His relationship with Jerry and Stephen Jones has soured significantly over the last several months. Neither side has said it out loud, but it seems that both would like to go their separate ways after the season.
"Yeah, possibly," Diggs said when asked after the game if he thinks he's played his last home game as a Cowboy. "If this is my last (home) game with the Cowboys, it's tough."
Diggs said that he wants to be back, and that "we'll figure it out" after the season, per Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Firing Matt Eberflus might not even be enough to keep Diggs in Dallas. Putting the concussion discourse behind him could be the first step toward breaking bread with the Joneses, but Cowboys fans won’t be holding their breath.
