The Dallas Cowboys may have got their offseason started off on a concerningly poor foot with the decision to saw out Mike McCarthy for Brian Schottenheimer, but there is still enough time for Jerry Jones to figure out a way to get this team back to the postseason with a strong draft.
The Cowboys have enough stars to build around, but they need a strong 2025 NFL Draft to fill some of the biggest holes on the roster and supplement their stars in the best way possible. The running back, defensive line, and cornerback rooms could all use some fairly important upgrades.
While the Cowboys will need to crush it if they want to keep pace with the red-hot Commanders and NFC champion Eagles, following this 3-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft in the wake of the Senior Bowl finally wrapping up could be one way to make sure this roster is well-stocked in the future.
Dallas Cowboys post-Senior Bowl 3-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft
Round 1, Pick 12: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Jeanty is without a doubt the top running back in this class after a historic final season with the Broncos, and he has been open in the past about his desire to play in Dallas. Rico Dowdle is solid, but Jeanty's ceiling is so much higher that passing on him could end up being a cataclysmic error.
Jeanty breaks tackles like no back that has entered the league in years, and he pairs that with impressive speed and great vision at the line of scrimmage. Jeanty could have started in the NFL last year, and he will be a huge help for a run-heavy Schottenheimer offense.
Round 2, Pick 44: Tyliek Williams, DT, Ohio State
The lack of development from Mazi Smith has made the interior defensive line an area of need once again. Williams is never going to be Aaron Donald as an interior pass rusher, but his flashes of brilliance (especially when defending the run) will make him a valuable commodity.
Williams clocks in at close to 330 pounds, and that power is evident when he completely blows up running plays. With solid overall athletic ability and an initial punch that can get guards on their back feet immediately, Williams' potential as a run-stuffer will get him snaps early.
Round 3, Pick 76: Dorian Strong, CB, Virginia Tech
Dallas' secondary went from one of the best in the league just a few years ago to a severe weakness that needs to be addressed. Strong is a gambler who will give up some big plays, but he has put enough strong reps on tape to get teams interested in his physical tools.
Strong is one of the best ballhawks among all the Day 2 cornerbacks, and his excellent tackling skills belie someone with his skinny frame. Strong should get rotation snaps as a nickel or dime cornerback as a rookie, giving the Cowboys protection against Jourdan Lewis bolting.
