The Dallas Cowboys have been on a roll with their last coaching hires. Not only are fans starting to warm up to the Brian Schottenheimer hire after he crushed his introductory press conference, but Dallas has done an excellent job filling out his coaching staff.
Having already hired Matt Eberflus and Nick Sorensen as defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator, respectively the Cowboys announced a flurry of hires on Wednesday.
That included Aaron Whitecotton as defensive line coach, Dave Borgonzi as linebackers coach and Andre Curtis as defensive passing game coordinator. The Whitecotton hire specifically has drawn rave reviews following his successful tenure as the Jets' DL whisperer.
It is also paramount that Dallas nails their offensive coordinator hire. Cardinals offensive line coach Klayton Adams is considered a top candidate after he helped design Arizona's top-10 rushing attack this past season. Adams interviewed on Wednesday but Dallas is still weighing its options.
The team should just go ahead and hire Adams because the latest name to enter the OC mix does not move the needle whatsoever.
The Cowboys are reportedly considering Ken Dorsey for offensive coordinator
ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler reported the Cowboys are interested in Ken Dorsey for their offensive coordinator position, though an interview is to be determined.
Dorsey has been fired by the Bills and Browns each of the last two seasons, respectively. The Bills finished second in scoring and yards in 2022 before ranking four and sixth in the same categories the following year before Dorsey was fired.

However, Buffalo's offense hit a bad rut that season. They went over two months without scoring more than 25 points and their 21% turnover rate was dead-last in the NFL. Josh Allen also led the league with 14 turnovers and 11 interceptions at the time Dorsey was fired.
Since Joe Brady replaced Dorsey, the Bills have become a run-oriented offense and Allen has taken much better care of the football.
They ranked 10th in yards and second in points this season even though Allen threw for just 28 touchdowns, his fewest since 2019. While the change didn't help Buffalo get over the hump in the playoffs, their offense is in a much better place with Brady relative to Dorsey.
Schottenheimer will call plays regardless if Dorsey gets the OC job, but the Cowboys would be making a huge mistake if they hire Dorsey over Adams. Hopefully this is a case where Dorsey interviews for offensive coordinator but ends up coaching the Cowboys' quarterbacks. He has eight years of experience in that role.
It would be a near-impossible sell to Cowboys fans if the team hires an offensive coordinator that's gotten fired two years in a row.
