Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones notoriously likes to do things his way, but the players, who made the team a dynasty under him have never been afraid to tell him what he needs to hear. That was on full display on Monday at the premier of Netflix’s “America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys,”a documentary series on Jones and the Cowboys dynasty of the 90s.

Jones and legends like Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith were in attendance for Monday’s premiere, and took part in some red carpet interviews. Irvin, the Hall of Fame wide receiver, praised Jones for what he did for the Cowboys, and also the NFL. While Irvin expressed his appreciation for the team owner, he quickly pivoted and made it clear that he would appreciate him even more if he got a deal done with current star Micah Parsons.

That’s when Irvin stepped to the side, revealing that Jones was right next to him taking part in his own interview. The former receiver then grabbed the Dallas owner and repeated, “I’ll appreciate Jerry more if he gets Micah Parsons’ deal done,” making sure he heard it. Jones laughed and gave Irvin a love tap.

Michael Irvin is putting the pressure on Jerry Jones to extend Cowboys star DE Micah Parsons

Irvin always has the best interest of the Cowboys in mind, and he has a very good relationship with Jerry Jones.

Unfortunately, his words probably won’t end the current saga between Parsons and Jones. While everyone agrees Parsons deserves an extension, the relationship between the two sides has seemingly deteriorated to a really bad spot.

Parsons has demanded a trade, and Jones isn’t even speaking to him or his agent about a deal, and the star defender hasn’t taken the field yet, with Week 1 just around the corner. A recent report from 105.3 The Fan claimed that Parsons and Jones met for four hours one day last week, but that hasn't resulted in anything substantial, as evidenced by Parsons' continued hold-in.

While Irvin is trying to do his part in getting the owner and franchise player back on the same page, the Cowboys won’t see much movement until Jones decides to take it upon himself.
