Since he was drafted in 2021, Micah Parsons has established himself as one of the most dominant pass rushers in the NFL. When all is said and done, Parsons could enter Lawrence Taylor territory as far as his impact on the game.
It remains baffling that the Dallas Cowboys haven't signed him to an extension yet, but Parsons is in good spirits after attending minicamp and his prank call on head coach Brian Schottenehimer. The All-Pro knows he's going to get paid, but patience is key given Jerry Jones' history.
A lot has been made about how much the Cowboys should pay Parsons. Team legend Michael Irvin is having none of that. Irvin went live on his YouTube channel to discuss the NFL's biggest headlines and made a call for fans to stop shading Parsons.
Cowboys legend Michael Irvin defends Micah Parsons amid contract saga
First, Irvin made it a point that the team needs to keep Parsons a Cowboy for life. Then he addressed the fans who are wary about overpaying Parsons because he's overrated. The Hall of Fame wide receiver shut that down in the most blunt way he could.
"There's no such thing as overpaying Micah. Micah is the point of that defense. Every offense that you're going to face comes in and says, 'We got to stop him.'"
Some fans believe Dallas should trade Parsons for a king's ransom. They would undoubtedly get a haul (and then some) for Parsons, but this team has a win-now core of players. This defense would crash and burn if Parsons were to get moved.

Cowboys fans should be blessed that Parsons rocks the silver and blue. He's already on a Hall of Fame trajectory four years into his career.
Irvin did a great job explaining how there is no such thing as "overpaying" a player of Parsons' caliber. Parsons deserves everything that comes his way, whenever it comes.
