The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Chicago Bears of all teams in Week 3, dropping them to 1-2 on the year. To make matters worse, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb exited the game during the Cowboys' first possession and did not return to the field.

To the surprise of no one, Jerry Jones had to make sure he spoke to the media after the game and he talked about Lamb's injury and his team being 1-2. On Lamb, the Cowboys owner told reporters that the early word on the injury was positive and also dropped this quote, "You see the difference he can make in a ball game."

Maybe this wasn't the best time to drop this particular quote, Jerry. It's not that Lamb isn't a difference-maker, he certainly is, but saying this when he was out for the majority of the game and your team lost in blowout fashion to a previously bad offensive team is completely tone-deaf and shows that Jones has zero clue what's going on.

Cowboys’ humiliating defeat was followed by a brutal Jerry Jones quote

Also, if Jones is talking about difference-makers in a game, what about Micah Parsons? If the Cowboys still had Parsons on their team right now, it feels like their season would be going in a more positive direction because he's a game-changer and has proven that in his short time with the Packers.

Not only did Jones drop that comment about Lamb but don't worry everyone, he also believes this Cowboys team is still a playoff squad. Being 1-2 certainly isn't the end of the line for a good chunk of teams in the league but there's nothing about this Cowboys team that screams playoffs, especially after a terrible game like the one they just played.

It's bad enough that the Cowboys just got worked by the Bears, but to have the owner constantly speaking to the media and making comments like these is really embarrassing. Most owners don't speak to the media, or when they do, it's not about giving injury updates.

At this point, fans have learned to simply accept that as long as there's a microphone, Jerry Jones is going to speak into it and likely say something that's tone-deaf and/or annoying. Maybe he'll be right about Dallas being a playoff team, but right now, that feels like a complete and total fantasy.
