Would you be interested in working yourself up into a fury for absolutely no reason at all? Perfect, you've come to the right place.
This morning's opportunity for faux-outrage comes to us courtesy of North Dakota State University, which kind of feels like the school that's started to corner the market on Prospects Who Make Fans Freakout over the last decade or so. Their latest candidate is offensive lineman Grey Zabel, who comes into this year's draft as one of the highest-rated line prospects in his class.

Zabel's problem, of course, is that he's not a wide receiver. And Cowboys fans all got together at some point this offseason and decided that the only position they wanted to target this year was wide receiver – so naturally, it sounds like the team's starting to lean towards taking Zabel. NFL Network's Jen Slater had some interesting things to say about the team's mindset heading into the first round tonight, and I should warn you now: it's probably going to infuriate you, unless you are Grey Zabel.
It sure sounds like the Cowboys are about to reach for an offensive lineman in the 1st round
"Got a tip this morning that Cowboys have concerns about who is going to lead the O line room," she tweeted on Thursday morning. "They have picked more offensive lineman through 3 rounds than any team so I find this intriguing. He’s a high character guy and they have put a lot of emphasis on building their trenches. If they can’t find a trade partner to go down this isn’t that wild of a move with Zabel but I know fans will lost it if the WRs there."
I don't really put much faith in any tips that any insiders are given this late in the process – especially ones as vaguely-worded as this one – but if you're going to believe Slater's reporting, it does kinda sound like the Cowboys are about to Cowboy. You know Jerry loves the idea of a high-character mauler in the first round (although it's kinda hard to blame him?). Plus, with all those trades he promised Cowboys fans, maybe they can just land another star wide receiver that way. No, you're coping.
The thing to take away from this? Nothing. There's nothing to take away from this. But if you have to find one anyway, maybe start cramming some last-minute Zabel film. It's not like there's anything else to do today.
