George Pickens' contract will be a distraction until it isn't, but Dallas Cowboys fans shouldn't let it cloud their perception of what has been a great offseason thus far.
While extending Javonte Williams before he could reach free agency was a shrewd move, hiring Christian Parker as defensive coordinator could go down as a franchise-altering decision.
To say Parker won his introductory would be an understatement. He opened eyes outlining the importance of teaching and later confirmed that Dallas will be a "multiple" defense with a 3-4 base.
Perhaps the most impressive part of Parker's tenure thus far is the robust staff he and Brian Schottenheimer have assembled. It has an ideal blend of established NFL voices and budding stars from the college ranks, and the final piece was added on Tuesday.
ESPN's Todd Archer reported that the Cowboys hired former Denver Broncos pass rush specialist consultant BT Jordan for the same role. Jordan is widely respected around the NFL, and his history with Kenny Clark all but confirms that Clark will be back in 2026.
One more addition to Cowboys’ staff: BT Jordan has been hired as a pass rush specialist consultant, per source. He spent the last two years with Denver and was with Seattle before that. Renowned for his work with DL over the years and has a past with Kenny Clark.

The Dallas Cowboys have all but confirmed Kenny Clark's fate with BT Jordan hire
Back in 2022, Clark gave a seminar about defensive line play to the Michigan State DL room and spoke glowingly about Jordan's football acumen.
"BT is different," Clark told CBS Sports. "As big guys (on the defensive line), we have to have good feet. BT understands that -- the footwork, using your hands, flipping your hips. All the things we do here, it translates to the game, and it translates quickly and effortlessly."
A former college offensive lineman, Jordan is the founder of "Trench Performance," which is a training program for defensive linemen at the high school, college, and NFL levels. Jordan now has a client list that runs 200 deep and includes Kenny Clark.
It’s no coincidence the Broncos boasted the NFL’s premier pass rush over the last two seasons. They led the league with 63.0 sacks in 2024 and followed it up with a league-high 68.0 sacks in 2025. Jordan is widely credited with orchestrating the turnaround, with players like defensive tackle Zach Allen pointing to his influence during Allen's 2024 breakout campaign.
Jordan joining the Cowboys’ staff doesn’t officially confirm Clark’s return, but it’s yet another breadcrumb suggesting he’ll be back in Dallas.
The NFL can be unforgiving, but cutting ties with Clark now -- after months of praise and the hiring of his personal DL coach -- would be a jarring and draconian reversal.
Whether Clark is back on his current contract is a different story, but signs continue to point toward the 30-year-old playing a second season with the Cowboys.
