After the Washington Commanders shockingly defeated the Detroit Lions in the playoffs last season, the Dallas Cowboys became the only NFC team in the 21st century to not make the NFC Championship game.
Dan Quinn has found all the tools he needs in just over one year since becoming the head coach of the Washington Commanders. Cowboys fans remember Quinn with a sour taste in their mouths following an embarrassing playoff loss at home to Green Bay. Now, with Jayden Daniels winning the 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of The Year award and a veteran defense on his plate, the Commanders have shown that they have a bright future ahead.
The Cowboys have one of the toughest stretches to close out the regular season and while America's Team has that waiting for them, the Commanders will go through a cakewalk start to the season that has Cowboys fans rolling their eyes.
Unfortunately for the Cowboys, the Commanders start their 2025 schedule with a breeze
The Commanders were just gifted with the easiest start to the season. As explained by NFL data analyst Warren Sharp, only one of their first four opponents is projected to have a winning record by the end of the season.
no team has an easier start to the season than the Washington Commanders

only 1 opponent is expected to have a winning 2025 season:

The next four for them will be their own gauntlet, facing teams like the Los Angeles Chargers, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs. Justin Herbert always makes it tough for any defense. With the help of Joe Thuney, Caleb Williams is projected to have a better season, hopefully not taking as many sacks as his rookie year. And of course, Patrick Mahomes is Patrick Mahomes.
A strong start to a season can only fuel a football team to even greater heights, and the momentum that Quinn and the Commanders are riding after last season is as high as it's ever been.
Dallas will have plenty of tough tests this year. How will Tyler Booker line up against Jalen Carter and Dexter Lawerence? What will Tyler Guyton look like in his second year? How will the Cowboys perform under immense pressure in November and December?
All we know is Quinn and the Commanders are starting out lucky, and that has to steam the ears of every Dallas fan out there.
