Just a few days after the Dallas Cowboys' preseason got even worse than it already was following a demolition at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens, Jerry Jones decided to once again needle his fans by finally making an addition to a cornerback room that numerous injuries have beset.

Unfortunately, the move is likely not going to be one that has much of an impact on the overall roster. Dallas has agreed to terms with former Denver Broncos cornerback Michael Ojemudia, who spent last season as a member of the UFL and will try to provide adequate depth.

The Dallas secondary, specifically the cornerback room, may be the worst overall unit on this roster. Signing Ojemudia when the room is leaking coolant as a collective is likely not the move that fans wanted to see, especially after old friend Cooper Rush didn't have too much trouble moving the ball against them.

Cowboys address secondary with weak Michael Ojemudia signing

Ojemudia started his NFL career off in sparkling fashion, as the former Iowa star and third-round pick became a starter during his rookie season and become a key member of Denver's secondary. However, Ojemudia has played in just six NFL games since 2021 thanks to the selection of Patrick Surtain II, injuries, and poor performance.

After bouncing around on various practice squads, Ojemudia eventually latched on with the UFL's DC Defenders and was a part of their championship-winning 2025 team. While he's not the worst depth signing in the world, the optics of this move aren't ideal for the Cowboys.

The secondary is clearly in need of an impactful addition who can shake this unit up for the better, be it a game-changer who comes in a Micah Parsons return package or a more established veteran. If Ojemudia gets any major snaps for Dallas this season, something has likely gone horribly wrong.

The Cowboys are putting off more concerning alarms with each passing day, all while Jones relishes in the free publicity from a new Netflix documentary. Their response to pacify an irritated fanbase seems to be making minor transactions that likely will be of little consequence.
