When Brian Schottenheimer was named the 10th head coach in Dallas Cowboys history, fans weren't on board at all. They went as far as to call Schottenheimer the next "yes man" for Jerry Jones as a call-back to the Jason Garrett era.

Since the hiring, Schottenheimer has embraced the Cowboys culture and has presided over some needed locker room changes. The attitude from the players during OTAs and minicamp has shown that the players are already respecting their new head coach.

However, Fox Sports radio host Colin Cowherd doesn't seem to agree. He thinks Schottenheimer's time will be short-lived. It is such a poor take that Cowboys fans should mark this one down and unearth it at the end of the season.

Colin Cowherd thinks Cowboys HC Brian Schottenheimer will be fired after one season

In a segment on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd," Cowherd and John Middlekauff discussed their thoughts on how the NFC will go this season, and he was confident to mention how Schottenheimer's job already isn't safe.

"Brian Schottenheimer is a one-and-done. Jerry will know by Thanksgiving he made a huge mistake. Forget the fact that Philadelphia and Washington will probably both blow them out in division twice...I think Dallas is going to be humiliated on a lot of Sundays. "

Cowherd went ahead to compare Schottenheimer to other short-lived coaches like Urban Meyer, Nathaniel Hackett, David Culley and Jarod Mayo. That is wildly disrespectful to Schottenheimer. Each of those names made a mockery of themselves when they became head coaches.

Regardless, Cowherd must've forgotten that Jerry Jones has never been a one-and-done guy when it comes to coaches. The Garrett era lasted a decade! Schottenheimer checked all of the Joneses' boxes in that he was an internal candidate and wouldn't cost a lot of money. Cowherd's take is already blasphemous for that reason.

The only way Cowherd's prediction has a shot of happening is if the Cowboys completely flop and end up with one of the worst records in football. The team would have to completely quit on Schottenheimer, and the early signs hint players would run through a wall for him.

Even then, the Joneses didn't really look outside the organization after they parted ways with Mike McCarthy. It will take a catastrophic failure for the front office to even think about looking the other way after a one-year sample.

This is just another hilarious take from Cowherd, who is looking for some engagement in the dog days of the NFL offseason.
