What a wild start to the offseason it has been, not just for the Dallas Cowboys, but for several teams, including recently-eliminated clubs from the the postseason. The Cowboys may have to find themselves a Matt Eberflus replacement, but at least they're not in the hunt for a new head coach like other squads.
A couple of those teams currently in search for a new head coach are directly related to the Cowboys, at least when it comes to some of the most recent rumors, and fans should absolutely care. When the Baltimore Ravens fired John Harbaugh, he immediately became the top name in this year's cycle -- and the Cowboys could have to get used to seeing him twice a year.
We already know he's been connected to the New York Giants as of late, but now we may know just how quickly things could come together.
Along with reiterating the fact that Harbaugh has likely narrowed it down to the Giants, Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons, ESPN Giants beat reporter Jordan Raanan recently reported this news:
"This is going to start moving quickly. It's not out of the question that Harbaugh visits all three teams by the end of the week."
The Cowboys may soon have to face John Harbaugh twice a year
It's no surprise to hear things will start moving fast, but for the Cowboys, this could mean their NFC East outlook just became more difficult.
Out of the teams who are reportedly in the mix for Harbaugh, the Giants certainly seem the most attractive. It is pretty simple. Just take the three quarterbacks into consideration: Jaxson Dart, Cam Ward and Michael Penix Jr.
Out of those three, it's a slam-dunk to take Dart, particularly when you look at his dual-threat skill set and the weapons he already has in place with Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo. Granted, both of them are coming off injury, but in the grand scheme of things, it looks bright.
Harbaugh might be the perfect coach to help Dart reach his potential, and he'd certainly have the most pull when it came to bringing in a strong offensive coordinator for the young signal caller.
For the Cowboys, this just means the division could soon get a whole lot tougher. The Philadelphia Eagles are already a great organization. The Washington Commanders have plenty of questions, but they've got their franchise quarterback at the very least. And, then you have the Giants, who have pieces in place, including their quarterback.
