Jerry Jones is one of a kind. No other owner in the NFL goes on local radio twice a week during the regular season. The Dallas Cowboys’ head honcho is as involved in the day-to-day as anyone in his position, and it’s reached a point where many fans have learned to tune him out.
Jones’ press conferences these days feature almost exclusively rambling and nostalgia for the 1990s, rarely offering a direct answer to the question at hand. His failed attempts to rationalize the Micah Parsons trade, coupled with repeated gaslighting of the fan base, have painted him as one of the most delusional owners in the league.
At the very least, Jones deserves a seat at the delusional table. And if there was ever a crown to wear, Bills owner Terry Pegula may have taken it from him during Buffalo’s end-of-season presser on Wednesday.
Pegula delivered many lowlights, but none stood out more than his admission that wide receiver Keon Coleman was a pick the coaching staff pushed for, despite general manager Brandon Beane having other prospects ranked higher on his board.
Throwing dirt on Sean McDermott less than 48 hours after firing him is one thing, but publicly undercutting Keon Coleman crossed another line entirely, and strongly suggests that Coleman's days in Buffalo are numbered.
As Buffalo GM Brandon Beane was answering a question about Keon Coleman and the Bills wide receivers, Terry Pegula said: “Can I interrupt? I’ll address the Keon situation. The coaching staff pushed to draft Keon.” https://t.co/1TvpCiGUFJ pic.twitter.com/k7KRCZsoS4

Cowboys' Jerry Jones is the biggest winner from Bills owner Terry Pegula's devilish press conference
Jones is no stranger to slighting players through the media. He called out Trevon Diggs last offseason, and he's often used Dak Prescott's contract as a crutch to justify the team's sluggish approach to free agency.
But taking a blowtorch to both a coach and a player in the same breath is different. Jones knows how to play dirty, but he often walks right up to the line without ever crossing it.
Pegula’s remark about Coleman is simply not something you ever hear about a player who is still on the roster. But it wasn’t the only comment that sent Bills Mafia ablaze.
Jerry Jones is oft-criticized for being out of touch with reality. Pegula made the 83-year-old look grounded by comparison.
Rather than parting ways with Beane, Pegula doubled down, promoting him and adding the title of President of Football Operations. Bills fans widely expected Beane to be shown the door after the Sean McDermott bombshell.

On top of that, Pegula blamed the Bills' Divisional Round loss to the Broncos on the controversial Brandin Cooks non-catch on 3rd-and-11 in overtime that was ruled an interception. When Beane was asked why Buffalo fell short of a Super Bowl, Pegula interjected and shouted, "A bad call!"
We can argue whether Cooks completed the process of a catch until we're blue in the face. It speaks volumes that Pegula pointed the finger at the referees after his MVP quarterback turned the ball over four times.
Jones may eventually reclaim the crown from Pegula, but Dallas’ owner has been on his best behavior of late. The Cowboys’ end-of-season press conference was a slog thanks to Jones’ rambling, but he stopped short of making any headline-grabbing remarks.
Until further notice, Pegula sits on the delusional throne.
