With their backs against the wall, the Dallas Cowboys have to make a stand Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles to keep their season alive.

They will have to do so without quarterback Dak Prescott, who suffered a partial avulsion of his hamstring and could miss the rest of the season. While a devastating loss, the offense is in the capable hands of backup Cooper Rush, who is in 5-1 in his career as a starter and looked impressive in the fourth quarter last week after Prescott left injured.

Most of the air has been taken out of the 2024 season, but AT&T Stadium is always rocking whenever the Eagles come to town. It should be an entertaining game. Let's get into who will be announcing and officiating it.

Announcers for Cowboys vs. Eagles

  • Network: CBS
  • Play-by-play: Jim Nantz
  • Color commentary: Tony Romo
  • Sideline reporter: Travy Wolfson

With Tony Romo on the call, this game will be nostalgic for Cowboys fans. Romo is the franchise's all-time leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns and third in wins behind Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach. This marks the first time this season that Romo will call a Cowboys game.

After retiring in 2016, Romo was hired by CBS Sports to become its lead NFL color analyst alongside play-by-play man Jim Nantz and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson. Romo inked a 10-year, $180 millio contract with the network in 2020, which made him the highest-paid NFL analyst in history at the time.

This is Nantz, Romo and Wolfson's eighth season together. They call CBS' premier game every week as well as the AFC playoffs and AFC Championship Game.

Referees for Cowboys vs. Eagles

If it's worth anything, the refereeing might favor the Cowboys in this rivalry game. Alex Kemp will be the head referee. While Dallas has been wildly undisciplined this season, the Eagles have not fared well under Kemp.

In fact, Kemp has flagged Philadelphia 29 times for 242 times in his career. The Eagles are 1-4 in games called by Kemp and have been outscored 158-129 in those matchups, per our friends over at Inside the Iggles.

Kemp drew criticism earlier this season when he flagged Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase for unsportsmanlike conduct after Chase yelled at the referees. Hopefully Mike McCarthy relayed to his players that Kemp has a quick-trigger for potential protesting.

Here is the rest of the crew that will be calling the game with Kemp:

  • Umpire: Mike Morton
  • Down Judge: Robert Richeson
  • Line Judge: Rusty Baynes
  • Side Judge: Lo van Pham
  • Field Judge: Sean Petty
  • Back Judge: Scott Helverson
