After the bulk of offseason moves, the attention now shifts to things like rookie minicamp, OTAs and eventually, training camp. The Dallas Cowboys have had themselves a strong offseason, which saw Jerry Jones hit some home runs in the 2026 NFL Draft.

But, now what?

Now, fans look ahead to which players will occupy key roles. Whether we're talking starting positions, rotational roles or simply a roster spot at all, Cowboys fans have a lot of directions they could look.

As it stands, the team has added over 30 new faces this offseason. But which notable names might be feeling a little heat? Which might have been a bit forgotten?

We look at three players, in particular, whom the Cowboys should not give up on just yet, regardless of their roles or who was brought in to challenge them.

Even though it looks like some players are buried, the Dallas Cowboys can still get more than enough out of them

Jaydon Blue, RB

It was the Javonte Williams show for the Cowboys in 2025. But, had Williams gone down to injury, the Cowboys would have been much more dependent on the likes of Malik Davis and rookie Jaydon Blue. Dallas didn't invest anything in the position this offseason, so Blue is still in the picture.

Even though he was a fifth-round pick and only took 38 carries in his first season as a pro, Blue is going to be a part of the plan. The Cowboys can't afford to toss him on the back burner, especially with Williams' injury history.

Shavon Revel, CB

In 2025, third-round rookie Shavon Revel started five games for the Cowboys while appearing in seven. But we can essentially throw out his rookie season because ... Matt Eberflus.

Revel may have seen the Cowboys invest in free agent Cobie Durant, along with Devin Moore, via the draft. But that doesn't mean Dallas is done with him. Sure, he finished dead last among qualifying cornerbacks in terms of a PFF coverage grade. But again ... Eberflus.

Let's give Revel the benefit of the doubt and see what defensive back guru Christian Parker can do with him. Revel doesn't have to start. He can compete and try to work his way back up the ladder. Besides, Dallas spent a third-round pick to get him. He's far from done.

Tyler Guyton, OT

To say this is a massive year for 2024 first-round pick Tyler Guyton might be an understatement. In two years, Guyton has had some serious injury concerns. He's been able to start a total of 21 of a possible 34 games (four of those he was active, but didn't start).

Along with being injury-prone, Guyton's performance has simply not been consistent enough. For example, in his 10 starts last season, Guyton ranked 81 out of a qualifying 89 tackles in terms of pass blocking, per Pro Football Focus. That's not first-round-pick quality. Throw in seven penalties in just those 10 games, and you've got plenty of reason to worry.

But the Cowboys can't afford to throw in the towel just yet. It sounds like Brian Schottenheimer is going to let both Nate Thomas and 2026 fourth-round pick Drew Shelton compete with Guyton. But Dallas has to do everything it can to get the best out of him.
